Welcome to the Ottawa chapter of the World Amateur Poker Tour (WAPT), open to all players located in the Ottawa region.

Weekly Ottawa Chapter Activities

The weekly Ottawa chapter tournaments are played at an on-line poker (host) site.  All WAPT Player and Tour members are welcome to play.  The tournament format is multi-table, no limit Texas Hold'em.  All transactions are managed by the on-line host and you can play whenever you want.

Private Ottawa Chapter Activities

Do you wish to setup your own private chapter?  A private chapter needs at least 20 registered players before we can schedule a tournament.  If your organization can muster up 20 or more registered players, than you can have your own private chapter tournament.  Private chapters can also participate in National and International league play.

Corporate Get Together

What a great corporate networking opportunity.  Sponsor a monthly/weekly on-line Texas Hold'em table for your organization.  It's a fun, informal and inexpensive method of bringing employees together for a friendly game of on-line Texas Hold'em poker.  Games last between 2 and 3 hours and the buyin can be as low as $5.50, with $5.00 going to the prize money and $.50 going to the host site.  Let the WAPT Ottawa chapter help you organize it.

Customer Appreciation

What better way to show your customers you appreciate their business, build brand recognition and customer loyalty.  Sponsor an annual on-line Texas Hold'em free roll tournament for your  customer base. Tourneys last between 2 and 3 hours and you can hold a tournament with a prize purse as low as $100.00.  Let the WAPT Ottawa Chapter help you organize and promote it.

Joining the Tour

The World Amateur Poker Tour is for amateur poker players who want to learn and gain valuable experience playing in a competitive, organized "free" or "real money" environment with the best amateur poker players in the world.  As Tour Members, players can establish  amateur world ranking on the World Ranking Point System™, compete for amateur Player of the Year, play for their country's national team, compete in the International Poker League and much more.   There are two types of memberships, Player and Tour.

WAPT Player Membership

A WAPT Player Membership is free.  Player Members can play in international league competition, chapters and any tournaments that are sanctioned for WAPT Player members.   Some examples of Player Member tournaments are the North American Championship, European Championship, and Players Championship.  Access to most of this web site is also available to all WAPT Player members.

Upgrade to a WAPT Tour Membership 

WAPT Tour Members can play in all WAPT events, including the annual Major tournaments,  establish  amateur world ranking on the World Ranking Point System™, compete for amateur Player of the Year, play for their country's national team, earn commissions for referring other tour members and more.

Tour memberships can be upgraded to 12 month, 6 month and 1 month "try the experience" intervals.

Ante Up For Charity

Held in partnership with The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, the Ante Up For Charity event is run entirely by volunteers and every dollar raised goes to the Michele Karen Chung Equipment Fund to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for cancer care.
