WAPT Program Changes

The on-line poker world has changed, and the WAPT is changing its program to ensure it continues to provide its members all possible opportunities to enjoy the game, be competitive on the tour, and play in a safe and "legal" environment, everywhere in the world.  The proposed changes to the WAPT program are listed below and are scheduled to be implemented in the second quarter of 2008, starting April 1st.

Changes to the WAPT  Program

1)    All "on-line" World Ranking Point System (WRPS)   sanctioned tournaments will be "Free Rolls" and will be hosted at either the free WAPT Card Room or other on-line sites that are licensed by the WAPT and are willing to host WAPT free rolls, with or without cash prizes.

2)    All WAPT tournaments will be open to all WAPT members.  All WAPT members will earn World Ranking points in every WRPS sanctioned tournament, however, "Tour" members will earn points at a much higher rate than free "Player" members.   Player members may not be eligible for certain on-going WAPT competitions.

Example 1 - Regular Monthly Tourney

The following example illustrates a regular monthly WAPT multi-table free roll tournament.  For calculating World Ranking Points, the implied buy-in factor for "Tour" members is the usual $15,000.00, where the implied buy-in factor for free "Player" members is the usual free roll factor of $0.00.

Example 2 - Multi-Session

The following example illustrates a multi-session WAPT multi-table free roll tournament series like the International Amateur Poker League.  For calculating World Ranking Points, the implied buy-in factor for "Tour" members is $300.00 ($15,000.00 x 6 counting tourneys), where the implied buy-in factor for free "Player" members is the usual free roll factor of $0.00.

3)    The Saturday night Tour Members Quarterly will changed to the WAPT Members Quarterly and will be  open to "all" WAPT members.  Players will earn World Ranking Points as indicated in the above multi-session example.

4)    The Tour Members Lounge will continue to be open to "Tour" members only, and will change it's focus.
