WAPT - World Ranking Point System™ (WRPS)

The World Ranking Point System WRPS™ is maintained for all WAPT members.  World Ranking Points are used to determine placing in WAPT competitions such as the World Series of Poker Challenge, Tour Members Quarterly Awards, world amateur Player of the Year and World Amateur Ranking.  WAPT members who participate in "WRPS Sanctioned" events and finish in the top 15% of players in the event, earn world ranking points according to their membership status.  For Tour members, points are calculated using a TBI factor equal to their annual membership dues, $15,000.00 for Premium members and $10.00 for Regular members and for free Player members the TBI factor is $0.00.

WRPS Sanctioned Events

Events that earn world ranking points are clearly designated as "WRPS Sanctioned" Events.  The following WAPT events are sanctioned for the World Rank Point System.

Winter League (Regular & Grand Finale), Spring League (Regular & Grand Finale), Summer League (Regular & Grand Finale), Fall League (Regular & Grand Finale), all (Major) tournaments, Tour Members Quarterly, all designated continental and national (Major) tournaments.

Certain private events sponsored by WAPT licensed brick and mortar and on-line cardrooms and approved by the WAPT may be sanctioned for world ranking points.  A brand licensed brick and mortar card room may have one WRPS sanctioned event per year and it must meet one of the two following criteria:

World amateur rankings will be published on a monthly basis.  World rankings points include the total points accumulated over the last 3 years plus the current year.
